KIDS ROOM PAINT COLOR IDEA
Choosing a paint is one of the most difficult and uncertain activities that we undertake while moving into a house or getting a new one. The range of colors is too damn high and most of the time we end up feeling that almost all of them are beautiful and that you will never end up selecting one. Now if that is too difficult, the even more tedious situation arises when it’s our kids’ room. To start with they are too fussy and almost never settle on anything. Added to that their peculiar choices and demands for colors that may or may not exist on the palette, it becomes an extremely tiring exercise. In such a case, understanding their state of mind, and the color that can complement their character will help us in choosing a color which they will eventually like and accept.
KNOWING YOUR KID:
Every kid is a different individual with all of the different traits. The way a kid interpret the world around him and the resulting likes and dislikes that he develops will be totally different from any of the ones developed by his peers. Understanding this also makes us realize that the kind of colors that a kid will like is invariably dependent on the character of the kid. For boys its usually bright colors, that they can associate with an adventure or some sports is the best bet. For girls its mostly soft colors like violet or lavender or pink that will work. But again sexualizing color is often silly and we can never decide a color solely based on the kid’s sex.
THE EVERGREEN COLORS:
There are some colors that are too good to be disliked by even the most fussy kids. Blue, green, and yellow are colors that most kids find appealing and experimenting with various shades of these colors will most often than not aid you in ending up with something that your kids like.
GOING WITH A THEME:
This is again one of the safest bet when it comes to painting your kids room. A nautical theme with sea and sky and horizon and heavenly bodies, creates a lot of scope for experimenting with colors while at the same time making the space extremely exciting for the kids and keeps it from looking bland and empty. If the décor is kept in sync with the general hue of the room, it will end up looking almost perfect.
FURNISHING WITH FUN:
We can always bring in cosy little study tables and couches which have some character of their own and are not just props in the room. This can add a more functional look to the room and at the same time coordinate with the other items to complete the room.
Choosing colors for a kids room should be an important affair in the entire décor process. It’s not something to be looked upon lightly and ignored, but something that should be dwelt upon and executed. Its true, their demands are unreasonable sometimes, but if we indulge ourselves, we sure can have fun.
