RUGS IDEAS FOR KIDS’ ROOM
Choosing and settling upon the décor ideas for a kids’ room is undoubtedly a very difficult task. The huge amount of varieties available in the market, and the conflicting choices that might arise in our heads, and add to all this the incessant mood swings and changes in the preferences of the kids, makes the entire process a near humongous task that can go wrong in more ways than one. We usually give a lot of care and attention when it comes to the walls and the other décor items in a kids’ room like curtains and furniture and lighting etc. we try to make sure that they blend in perfectly together and emanate a positive vibe.
But one feature of the room that we grossly oversee or deliberately neglect is the rug on the floor. This unfair and senseless neglect of the rug on the floor can easily destroy the entire ambience of the room. The rug can stand out from the other décor elements if not chosen carefully and this will appear extremely odd when one enters the room. There are some basic ideas that one can keep in mind while choosing a rug which can prevent any kind of silly mismatch later on.
Multicolored rugs are a very safe and exciting option for the rugs in the kids’ room. Mainly because it matches with all the other décor items in the room by the virtue of the multiple hues and at the same time always maintains a vibrant atmosphere. Regularly striped rugs or random striped rugs can be used in this case.
ARABIAN PATTERN RUGS:
Rugs with Arabian patterns also appeal to the kids. They almost feel like an Arabian carpet and although today the kids barely know of the Arabian carpets, but still their flowery design and intricate artwork appeal to their senses nevertheless. They are also advantageous in that stains or mild marks are not clearly visible on them which comes in very handy especially in the kids room where there’s a lot of spillage and dirtying up.
COMPLEMENTING THE ROOM:
This is probably the best and the most used idea while deciding the rugs for floors in general irrespective of whether it is a kids room or not. Getting rugs of the same color or shades as that of the walls and the ceiling can unite the entire room and all the angles on the walls will fuse together. Bright colors like red or violet are generally preferred by the children. The colors should be chosen keeping in mind that the furniture and lighting should complement them.
Selecting rugs should not be treated as the least important job while planning out a kids’ room. A fun and vibrant rug can make the entire room interesting for the kids. At the same time a rug that is bland and is devoid of any imagination can sap the energy out of a room and render it dull for the kids. One should just take the time and decide on the kind of atmosphere that he or she wishes to exist in the room and accordingly decide on the type of rug, and in such a case messing it up becomes a remote possibility.
